Transport for London (TfL) is operating a service on 13 January 2013 and the 20 January 2013 to commemorate 150 years since the first London Tube journey. The newly restored Met Steam Locomotive No. 1, the last locomotive to be built by the Metropolitan Railway, will pull Met Railway Jubilee Carriage No 353, the oldest operational Tube carriage, TfL stated.

On 9 January 1863 the world’s first underground train pulled out of Paddington station to make its 3.5 mile (5.6km) maiden journey to Farringdon.
