The three Austrian construction operations which were all part of the Bau Holding Strabag group will now all trade as the single company Strabag AG. This was effective from September.
The three affected are Ilbau GmbH, Strabag Österreich GmbH and Stuag Bau GmbH. The target of the business continues to be the domestic and European markets with selected projects further afield, especially in tunnelling.
The decision to amalgamate the businesses was a development consequent of the purchase of the majority of shares in Strabag AG in Germany by the core shareholders of Bau Holding AG of Austria in late 1997. Strabag says that the move will create an even more powerful and most reliable partner for the company’s clients. All three of the former companies were involved in tunnelling and can prove outstanding experience and track record for both NATM and TBM construction with a good financial background.
Strabag AG says there will be no change to existing contracts and obligations to be completed and fulfilled as agreed. Existing branches, addresses and contact staff will also remain the same. The company is registered in Spittal an der Drau under the Klagenfurt District Court.
