Janice, the $10.4m, 580 tonne TBM used on the 1.6km Hastings stormwater sewage tunnel in the UK has left the site the way she arrived, by barge on the high tide. The TBM was dismantled in sections and transported from site by low loaders. The tunnel which broke through in August 1999, (Sept 99, p8) is scheduled to be operational by the end of the year.
