The Bakun Hydroelectric Corp Bhd (BHC) has been given notice by the Malaysian government to hand over all rights and assets from the Bakun Dam project. A report in the UK construction press confirmed that the government is to pay compensation to shareholders, contractors and lenders.Tenaga National Bhd (TNB) and the Sarawak Electricity Supply Corp are managers of the construction of the Bakun Tunnel, which will continue until completion – scheduled for mid-2001.
