A technical and economic feasibility study for the construction of Line 3 of the Rio de Janeiro Metro is to be carried out by the Noronha Engenharia/Parsons Corp. consortium. Line 3 will connect Alcantara, São Goncalo and Niteroi with Rio de Janeiro through a 4km tunnel beneath Guanabara Bay, at an estimated cost of $665m.
