Engineering consultant De Leuw Cather International is finalising designs for three road tunnels costing US$170M in Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) ready for tenders to be invited in the middle of next year.
The scheme involves a 1.1km link and two smaller 700m long tunnels linking Mina Street with Hazza bin Zayed Street via Salaam Street. The tunnels will be about 34m wide and contain a dual three-lane carriageway. A single contract is likely to be awarded to build all three tunnels.
