Veidekke has been awarded the US$38M contract by the Norwegian Public Roads Administration to develop the Halsenøy connection to the mainland by means of a 4.2km long subsea tunnel.
The contract for a section of trunkroad between Sunde on the mainland and Tofte on Halsenøy will run for a total of 6.3km and is due to get underway immediately. Completion of the project is scheduled for the beginning of 2008.
