The annual gathering of tunnelling and underground space professionals, engineers and decision-makers will take place in Stockholm from May 9-15, 2025.

A full three-day programme of WTC2025 proceedings will explore a wide range of topics, and the exhibition hall, showcasing the latest in industry materials, machines and services, is filling fast, with the last booths available.

The event will be held at the Stockholmsmässan congress centre and the hosts, ITA Member Nation Sweden and the Swedish Rock Engineering Association, have secured special rates with hotels for the benefit of WTC delegates.

The very early bird registration rate of SEK7,800 (about EU€673/US$715) is available until November 30. The early bird rate of SEK9,000 (about EU€775/US$825) is then available until January 31, 2025. The standard rate of SEK10,800 (about EU€930/US$990) will then apply until the start of the Congress on May 8, 2025.

Within the WTC programme, the ITACET Training Course on May 9-10 will cover advanced risk management, sustainable practices, and innovative approaches in tunnelling. Under the theme Managing Risks, Sustainability, and Innovation in Rock Tunnelling, the two-day event will be held at the Stockholm Waterfront Hotel, located near Stockholm’s central station.

The technical tours arranged for the delegates will showcase Sweden’s rich history and innovation in tunnelling. They include visits to one of the world’s longest traffic tunnels, a historic mine, a set of novel urban development projects, and a glimpse into Sweden’s rock drilling and explosives past and famous Swede, Alfred Nobel.

The social events at WTC2025 will provide the perfect opportunity for networking and experiencing Swedish culture, with a welcome reception at the iconic Stockholm City Hall and a gala dinner hosted at the stunning Artipelag art and culture venue in the Stockholm archipelago.
